Marguerite was born in Port Elizabeth where she also matriculated. After matric, she attended Potchefstroom university to qualify as a pharmacist. Her very first job was at a Transmed pharmacy where she worked for 12 years until an opportunity arose where she opened her own pharmacy in 1985.

After five years somebody walked in who wanted to buy the pharmacy and on the spur of the moment she decided to sell and she went home to be a stay at home mom. Another opportunity arose to buy a pharmacy with an opportunity to open a second pharmacy that she could not resist.

When she turned 60 she started questioning if it was really still necessary to continue to work from Mondays to Sundays. She and her husband then decided to retire in Prince Albert, her husband’s place of birth and where he grew up. She then started doing locums and that soon became a very busy occupation.

In 2014 she was introduced to Mannatech, but only joined to please a friend and soon lost interest. After her husband was diagnosed with a life threatening disease, the same friend started sending her Mannatech products. Because she did not believe in the products, she gave him small amounts, spending thousands of Rands per month on other natural products, as the chemotherapy and radiation did not have the desired effect.

After her husband passed away in 2016, she still had products left and gave it to three different friends with health challenges. After seeing what difference, the products made to their health, she knew she had to get involved. So much so that she qualified for Mannafest in Las Vegas. There she really experienced the heart of Mannatech and became proud to be part of the Mannatech team.

Having recently qualified as a Presidential Director just before turning 70, really overwhelmed her. She is truly thankful for all the support she has received from her leaders Bronze PD Irene du Preez, Silver PDs Neil and Helena Wilken and Platinum PD JP Koster.
